2016 Mitsubishi Outlander will run on a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine mated with dual electric motors, each with its own axis. A 60 kW electric motor will be installed and it shall get power from a lithium-ion battery. The hybrid model will come with a permanent all wheel drive but in case the battery gets low, it will use the front wheel drive. With a fully charged electric version, it will complete about 40 miles. The automaker is working on a new Outlander trim with plug-in hybrid power unit. Its fuel consumptions is rated at 157 miles per gallon. The new model will achieve speeds of 62mph in about 8.0 seconds.
